Pause, Breathe, Reflect,

My wish for you,

In the last few weeks you’ve seen country after country going into lockdown to stop spreading COVID-19 virus. You’ve been asked to stay in the comfort of your home to save lives and I know it won’t always be easy. You’ve changed your way of life and work overnight. You’ve seen an unprecedented network of support coming through. You’ve connected and re-connected with people you hadn’t talked to in weeks, months or years. You’ve clapped for the NHS - and let’s not forget all the other people who are working and putting their lives at risk everyday for us (delivery men, cleaners, cashiers, shop owners, bus drivers, scientists, volunteers, supermarket staff and more). You’ve witnessed unprecedented change and you know how changing is hard. You’ve resisted it for years.

You’ve been overwhelmed by the emotions that this crisis has brought to you. It’s normal and it’s ok.

PAUSE, BREATHE,

I have seen you thrive through the last weeks, not survive but thrive. If there's one thing you know by now is that you can change and it’s not as hard as you thought it could be.

I could share with you now some ways of coping with the current situation but I won’t because I’ve seen you in the last weeks and I know you’ve got this. But know that if you need or want to talk, I am here and will always be here for you.

My wish for you now is that you are safe and healthy because, if you are, you will bounce back. I know you will, I’ve seen you thrive through the last weeks.

My wish for you is that when this crisis is over (and it will because like everything else it shall pass), you will remember that we were all in this together and that together we can make positive changes happen.

My wish for you is that when you feel that you’ve settled in your ‘new’ life and you’re ready, you PAUSE, BREATHE and REFLECT. Ask yourself not what could happen in the next weeks or months but what do you want to see happening?

My wish is that this crisis will not become another moment of history we remember but another way of living, loving and connecting. And that through this crisis we will become human again.

With love,

Marie
